Meriden, CT Master Antonio Rivera Jr. started training in 1976, under the instruction of Master Robert E Beaudion and his direct student Master Marc Sattler. Master Rivera earned his Master’s belt (4th degree) in 1998 under Grandmaster Jae Chul Shin, Founder of the World Tang Soo Do Association. Master Rivera has had the opportunity to train with many top Martial Artists. Master Rivera was promoted to Senior Master (Sunim Sah bom nim) - 5th degree by Grandmaster John St. James, president and founder of the Atlantic Pacific Tang Soo Do Federation.
Master Rivera’s martial arts training has taken him to various parts of the World such as Korea, China, and Brazil, as well as various parts of the United States. In visiting Korea he went to Kukiwon, the home of Tae Kwon Do. His visit to China took him to many beautiful places. Some of the cities that he visited were Shanghai, Nanjin, X’ian, The Shaolin Temple, and Beijing.
Master Rivera is currently a part-time instructor at the Meriden Police Academy (CT). He is one of the Physical Fitness Instructors and one of the Defensive Tactics Instructors. Master Rivera has conducted many self defense programs within the local community, such as the Girls Inc., City of Meriden, CT Youth Services program, and Career Day at many of the Elementary schools in Meriden. Master Rivera has also been involved with many city events.
Master Rivera is also a 4th Degree Black Belt-Master in Hapkido - Sun Moo Kwan under Grandmaster James Allison.
